This concept master plan sets the framework for the first phase of the Zowara Abu Kamash Development Zone
(ZADA), a site of approxi-mately 1000Ha as startup to generate the critical mass for future developments.
The development consists of three distinct yet linked town centres, each with a unique identity focussed on lifestyle & tourism, education & knowledge and business development. The urban framework provides flexibility in the growth pattern of the towns to respond to unanticipated and changing circumstances.
The city is organized along a meandering loop road that is partially made up by three of the East-West Parkways that traverse the entire site. The major site attractions are located along this meadering loop road whilst the areas further away from the parkway are reserved fore residential buildings.
A connected and comprehensive open space structure that includes connections to the Mediterranean Sea and to existing cultural landscape features. Of special significance is the Mediterranean coast which remains open and publicly accessible throughout the project.
